Locate stuck transmitters or bugging devices in a room or
automobile with this pocket sized detector. It excels at silent
detecting of RF signals for RF security and counter surveillance
applications.
The DD-2020 is a staple of the industry and is one of our
favorite bug detectors because it has a larger detecting range
than
most units. Finding ‘bugs’ (called sweeping) is one the most
sought
out services services private investigators offer, and more times
than not a sweep of a home will cost more than a person buying
their
own bug detector and doing it themselves.
A wireless bug is basically a device, like a microphone or
camera, that transmits a signal very far distances so that another
person can see, hear, or record what the bug is sending them.
You’ve
most likely seen bugs being used in various films and television
shows: the criminals are in a house that has been bugged with
cameras and mics, and several streets over there is a dog-washing
van with policeman inside with a wall of TVs so they can hear and
see everything going on. This is how a bug works!
The DD-2020 has a built-in receiver that can pick up wireless
transmissions from frequencies between 1MHz - 6GHz; for the
record,
most bug detectors can only detect signals down to 50MHz. This
basically means that the DD-2020 can pick up 49 more wireless
signal
types than most other detectors. The vast majority of wireless
cameras and audio bugs fall within this frequency range, and will
therefore be detected.

Using the DD-2020
1.Turn it on using the power
switch.
2. Enter the room you want to sweep, and turn the
sensitivity dial so that none of the yellow or red lights are on;
this is to setup the detector so it won’t find wireless signals
from your neighbors and such.
3. Begin to walk along the edges of the room,
raising the DD-2020 from the ceiling to the floor as you move
across the room. Move across the whole room this way. The DD-2020
will detect signals up to 8 feet away.
4.If a signal is being
detected, the yellow and red LEDs begin to light up and a beeping
sound will occur, or you can set the detector to vibrate mode if
you want to keep it silent and covert. When you move to an area
where a signal is detected, more lights will begin to turn on and
the unit beeps/vibrates much faster.
